Hardangerfjord Hotel is located in the centre of Øystese, 80km from Bergen. Here you’ll find a range of activities and adventures to suit every age and ability. At the centre of Øystese you’ll find a sandy beach from which you can swim, and in the area itself attractions such as Ingebrigt Vik Museum and its wonderful sculptures, Kabuso Art Centre, The Goldfish Lake, Øredals waterfall and Kvam Museum.

On Børve in Øystese there is a six-hole golf course with driving range.

With tracks and trails aplenty, as well as the fjord of course, Øystese is a great starting point for day trips both on the sea and in the mountains.

Alpine and cross-country ski opportunities

In winter you can take a ski tour to Kvamskogen or enjoy the alpine ski facilities at Furedalen and Eikedalen, only 15-20 minutes’ drive from the Hardangerfjord Hotel.

Sjusete, which is just a 10-minute drive away, has many varied and excellent ski trail opportunities.

Arts and Culture

Kabuso Art Centre is situated next to the Ingebrikt Vik Museum in central Øystese. Kabuso is Hordaland’s Millennium Project. Here there are exhibitions, concerts and events throughout the year. Ingebrigt Vik Museum, meanwhile, is one of the few sculpture museums in Norway.
